It is often necessary to consolidate events from number of sources (monitoring tools, element managers, log files, etc.,) into a single repository. RapidConnector enables organizations to implement integration solutions to consolidate events from disparate systems and data sources often without writing any low-level code.

Applications, servers, operating systems, devices, management tools, etc., all generate events that are stored in variety of formats, which may be exposed through variety of interfaces. RapidConnector framework can be used to consolidate events in various formats from various sources into a single repository such as a management system or a database. RapidConnector components hide the complexity of the different interfaces from different data sources, and enable users to leverage the same skill set to implement integration solutions without having to have in-depth expertise on each event source and interface. EMC/Smartstm Service Assurance Manager (SAM) is a powerful solution that can be used as the Manager of Managers (MoM). InCharge Common Information Model (ICIM) makes SAM an ideal solution to consolidate information and represent in-context. Various RapidConnector Readers and ICNotificationWriter component can be used to implement integration solutions to consolidate events from various data sources rapidly, often without having to develop any low level code.

Southbound Integration RapidConnector Readers such as FileReader and SocketReader normalize the event data from different event sources, and enable the user to utilize standard RapidConnector transformers to manipulate the events and send to the EMC/Smarts SAM server through ICNotificationWriter. Standard components hide the complexity of the proprietary interfaces and enable the user to configure solutions without having to gain in-depth knowledge of the interfacing systems.
