Migration strategy from RapidInformer V1.1 to V1.2

I have a RapidInformer system running in "pre-production" mode with the following characteristics:
2 Smarts datasources, 5 connectors, 2 channels, 12 users, each user has one following budy and one or more routes.
+ customized groovy scripts for email and SMS channels

I am wondering what is the best (and supported !) migration path from V1.1 to V1.2:
1) stop V1.1, install V1.2 in the same installation root, and restart
2) scratch everything, install a brand new V1.2 and re-configure

I want to minimize the downtime ... and the overall effort.

I think the 2. approach would be better. We can help you move the configuration. It would also be a good chance to review whether it can be improved.
It should be possible to configure everything and do cut over with negligible down time.
